Survivor

Survivor was written by Chuck Palahniuk. The same author who wrote Fight Club. But I have never read that book or seen the movie before taking this class. I have seen clips from this movie in class, and found it interesting.

I found it odd that he wrote Survivor starting from the last page of the book and ending on the first. But I found it intriguing that he could use small sentences to communicate large parts of the story. I enjoy the aspect, and wish that I could write the same way, but know that I would add more description. I would want to make sure that my reader understands the rules of the story before continuing on to the next part. My game/book would be more progressive, and the reader a.k.a the player would need to read each book in order to grasp what was going on. H.P. Lovecraft

From what I know of H.P. Lovecraft, he was a writer that had many trials in his life, and he wrote stories to vent some of his anger. His writing is very descriptive, and he does a very good job of painting a picture for his readers. In my opinion, his most notable stories were the ones involving the Cthulhu Mythos.

The stories involved an evil alien god figure named Cthulhu, which also happened to be a name used in a tabletop roleplaying game based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft called “Call of Cthulhu” after the story he wrote.
